The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta’s Call-to-Act for Earth Hour “Lights Off - Green On - Run for Earth Hour”

The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta participated in Earth hour by doing call-to-act #IniAksiku collaborated with WWF Indonesia and IndoRunners - running community with special theme “Lights Off - Green On - Run for Earth Hour”.

 As the lights-off on 28 March 2015 in one hour at 8.30 – 9.30 PM, Indorunners – running  community and hotel’s guest started to run while giving seed plants, these are only few actions by The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta to protect our earth from climate change and to enhance the envrionmental friendly lifestyle, as we know that The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta is the representative of ‘Green Hotel’ from all over Indonesia and awarded as ‘Indonesia Leading Green Hotel 2014/2015’.

 This Earth Hour event started from 8 PM at Lagoon Terrace of The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta as a ‘meeting point’ for all running participants from staff, hotel’s guest, WWF and Indorunners. Opened by Mr. Samuel Daud Sardjulo-Operation Manager, as a representative from The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta and speech from the representatives of WWF and Indorunners. Continued with warming up session by professional instructor from Life Spa & Fitness to relax the muscles before running.

At 8.30 PM, The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta switched off some lights in the complex and running participants start to run to Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) while giving seed plants to vehicles. This seed plant giveaways hopefully will encourage people to protect the Earth and to create a green environment starts from their home’s yard.

Then at 9.30 PM all lights switched back on and participants gathered back at Lagoon Terrace of The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta for cooling down session while enjoying some refreshment snacks, door prize and photo session.
